James Bond and Nick Fury - Agent of SHIELD
Now in fact this is an old (and not very satisfactory) picture which was painted in guache on paper.
For this week I dusted it off, added a few more details, and then added some more colour and gloss in Smoothdraw3. I would say 80% traditional and 20% digital.
I cut down on my usual amount of dialogue - in this case, I figure less is more. But then I *had* to go adding a caption to give some logic or time reference to the scene. tsk.

Love this piece. As Sean says, spot-on Connery likeness. I also love that you gave a little story context for it, too. But my favorite thing about it is the understated way Bond and Fury are greeting each other. It reminds of those old Warner Bros. cartoons with the fox and the sheepdog punching in for the day... :)

Thanks John. Yeah, I was pleased with the dialogue - what there is of it. These are MEN'S men, goddamnit - what needs saying?
I'm glad everyone likes Connery, but to be honest, the reason I came back to this piece was Fury.

LOL - Not that much! This was one of my abject failures and I was glad of the chance to give it another try. Since it was 95% done, it didn't take that much effort.
And the other two pieces... I did *NO* backgrounds and only two or three figures. No obligation, so if they were awful I could just throw them away. Very 'relaxed'.
