Popeye and Hourman by Nick-Perks Popeye and Hourman by Nick-Perks
Painted in guache, scanned in and text added in MSPaint.
I can't understand why no one saw the potential in Hourman before James Robinson. Why is there no TV series?
It was fun to make the comparison between Hourman and his miraclo pill and Popeye and spinach - plus I had never drawn Popeye before.

To be fair, Roy Thomas did some interesting things with Hourman and his Miraclo-addiction back in All-Star Squadron in the 80s. :)

This is guache? Wow, I usually got muddy results with them when I used them back in my Kubert School days. I love how naturalistic Hourman's pose is here -- it looks like you had someone modeling for you in a costume! And that's one dead-on Popeye the Sailor Man! Arf Arf!

I have mixed results with guache myself, it's definitely not the easiest medium to work with. I get pretty frustrated when I can't can't reach Perksian levels of greatness, and then fall back on digital colors.
