Superman versus Dracula by Nick-Perks Superman versus Dracula by Nick-Perks
Superman versus Dracula...
Buster Crabbe - FAR better than the scripts, budget or Special Effects of the day deserved. I was going to use Clark Gable (surely the source of Clark Kent's first name) but decided Mr. Crabbe deserved the honour of combating Dracula.
Bela Lugosi as Dracula - the version that has at least influenced every interpretation since.
The 100 year anniversary of Universal Pictures apparently - it HAD TO be Lugosi.
Put together using photo references in the style of a 1940s movie poster.
I have submitted the original black-and-white version and the colorized version using Smoothdraw3.

This really does look like one of those old movie posters. Excellent work - looking at this, I wish there was an actual film of this sort floating around. :)

Clark came from Clark Savage Jr. I thought, along with the Fortress of Solitude. Copyright was not so monolithic back then.

Bonus Multiplier: all that green in Dracula's coloring.
Bonus Multiplier X2: George Zucco as Lex Luthor. Someone did their homework.

This sounds like a much better movie than "Batman vs. Superman". I'm 100% positive Superman would win this battle. Easily.

Nice. I guess it also helps that I know who Alan Smithee is.

this is an awesome poster. Love it really looks like there could've been a film about Superman meeting Dracula back in the 40's.

Good question! I just wondered what lurid colours the movie posters would use in the 1940s to make it more 'shocking' and I thought: green! which is ridiculous, because how would he pass for human? But in the poster? Quite likely.

Thanks! At one point I began to think he was looking a little like Mr Bean... Then I concluded that, well, maybe Lugosi's evil grin *is* a little bit like Mr Bean; And now I've put this idea in your head it will never go away. Ever. <evil laugh>
