You're most welcome! Looking at this piece recalls childhood dreams of wanting to be astronauts & explorers of the unknown. Although most of us stayed earthbound, at least we have artworks like this to give us a peak into other worlds

holy digital-rendering batman! this looks great! i love how comfortable you've gotten with it all!

One thing that helps with planet rendering is to use the circular marquee tool, make a perfect circle, and then just go to town on the rendering. through gradients of shadow if you have to, have brighter spots and all of them will be contained within that perfect circle. : )

"Circular... marquee... tool..."? Uh-oh. Sounds like that might be something the Professionals use. <sigh>
I am still using Smoothdraw which is pretty damn good I must say - but it is showing itself to be a little buggy... What can I say? it's free!
I certainly do NOT feel comfortable with digital yet... still discovering what works - and what doesn't.

it's like the select tool, but in a circle. I'm sure most programs must have a select tool, right? I dunno, I've been using the same copy of photoshop for 7 years or something like that.
